Give nowEach year, TRU’s Day of Giving calls on the community to improve the lives of Thompson Rivers University students. This year, we raised $80,850 in 48 hours.
Your gift will be directed to student support, research and/or special initiatives — wherever it is needed most.
Your gift will support wildfire research, education, training and innovation. The work undertaken by TRU Wildfire has real-world impact for all Canadians. The frequency and severity of fires and smoke is expected to increase, especially as climate change continues to impact our planet, therefore it’s critical we find new ways to prevent, prepare for and manage wildfires.
Your gift will help TRU become the first zero-carbon university in Canada. TRU’s Low-Carbon District Energy System will replace natural gas boilers with low-carbon energy and is expected to offset over 100,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over 30 years — the equivalent to planting a 4,000-acre forest, approximately 16 times the size of TRU’s Kamloops campus.
Your gift will support the construction of dedicated space for Indigenous education, culture and community at TRU. The centre is designed to embody the cultural heritage and traditions of the Secwépemc people and is a symbol of TRU’s dedication to truth and reconciliation that will serve as a centralized hub for Indigenous learning and support services, offering a space that fosters understanding, respect and collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
Your gift will help fund a program or award of your choice and make a difference to TRU students. Nearly 1,000 TRU students received donor-funded financial support last year. Many more still need our help.
Your gift will support WolfPack student-athletes through scholarships and awards, allowing them to focus on their training and studies without financial stress, positively impacting their education and athletic performance. When you back the ‘Pack, you help TRU WolfPack teams stay competitive on the nationa stage.
Your gift will help establish an award fund to support students studying at TRU Williams Lake campus. Once established, this award fund will help students in perpetuity.
